Returning to Michigan in 2021 after 11 years in NYC, Owner and Instructor Caitlin Reid faced the challenge of launching a new career in the film & video industry. Common resources like online courses and YouTube lacked the personalized guidance she needed. So, she earned a trade certificate in independent filmmaking from Motion Picture Institute, gaining expertise in both creative and business aspects.
She started developing her workshops after working in a local camera shop and seeing other self-taught filmmakers, videographers, visual artists, and creators struggle with the same things she did before going to back to school and gaining industry experience.
Now, building on her background creating unique learning resources for technical subjects, she offers hands-on experiences for self-taught videographers, podcasters, and indie filmmakers looking for insight and in-person, individualized feedback. Unlike online tutorials, her in-person sessions provide non-judgmental insights from someone with practical, local industry and technical knowledge.
